Een podium voor performance, experiment en ontmoeting

 

DIHAN is een open en experimenteel performancekunst-platform dat in 2019 ontstond tijdens de kunstenaarsboekenweek WKB18 in Groningen. Sindsdien groeide het uit tot een levendige plek voor kunstenaars, performers, schrijvers en publiek – een podium voor het ondefinieerbare, het onderzoekende en het tijdelijke.

Studenten en alumni van kunstacademie Minerva zijn regelmatig betrokken, maar ook kunstenaars van buiten Groningen vinden hun weg naar DIHAN. Inmiddels vonden ruim 150 performances plaats, uitgevoerd door minstens evenveel kunstenaars – van spoken word tot geluidsexperiment, van dans tot tekstperformance.

DIHAN Reads

​

Een zelfstandige loot van het platform is DIHAN Reads, gericht op performatief lezen. Hier wordt de geschreven taal uit haar lineaire structuur gelicht en opnieuw belichaamd in ruimte en stem.

​

De winkel als podium – ruimte voor initiatief

​

Antiquariaat Berger & De Vries stelt haar winkelruimte actief open voor kunstenaarsinitiatieven. We nodigen makers uit om gebruik te maken van de winkel als ruimte voor experiment, presentatie of performance. Denk aan:

• Afstudeerprojecten

• Tentoonstellingen

• Spoken word en poëzie

• Muzikale optredens

• Boeklanceringen of kleinschalige kunstbeurzen

 

De winkel is geen white cube, maar een levendige, boekenrijke omgeving waarin kunst en publiek elkaar op een laagdrempelige manier kunnen ontmoeten. We denken graag mee, ook inhoudelijk.

Vanaf het begin ondersteunt Berger & De Vries DIHAN als mede-organisator en vaste plek. Onze winkelruimte in hartje Groningen wordt regelmatig getransformeerd tot performancepodium – intiem, informeel en veelzijdig.

A platform for experimental performance

​

DIHAN is an open, experimental performance art platform that began in 2019 during the artist book week WKB18 in Groningen. Since then, it has grown into a vibrant space for artists, performers, writers, and audiences – a stage for the undefinable, the exploratory, and the ephemeral.

 

Students and alumni from Minerva Art Academy frequently take part, but artists from far beyond Groningen also find their way to DIHAN. To date, over 150 performances have taken place, with just as many participating artists – from spoken word to sound experiments, from dance to textual performance.

DIHAN Reads

​

An independent branch of the platform is DIHAN Reads, focused on performative reading. Text is lifted from the page and re-embodied through voice, rhythm, presence, and space.

​

The shop as a stage – open to your initiative

​

At Berger & De Vries, our bookshop is more than a shop – it’s a space for art. We actively invite artists, students, musicians, and collectives to make use of the store for public-facing initiatives. This might include:

​

• Graduation projects

• Pop-up exhibitions

• Spoken word and poetry performances

• Intimate concerts

• Book launches or small art fairs

 

The shop is not a white cube – it’s a lived-in, book-filled space where art and audience can meet in accessible and unexpected ways. We’re happy to collaborate and think along with your ideas.
